Moldova

Moldavia or Moldova is the region in northeastern Romania bordered by the Carpathian Mountains in the west, the state border with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova in the east, and the historical region of Muntenia (Wallachia) in the south.
Together with the Republic of Moldova’s current territory, it once formed the Principality of Moldova that stretched from the Carpathian Mountains to the Dniester River.
Moldova is especially known around the world for its famous churches – Sucevita, Moldovita, Voronet, Putna, Neamt – each with a history of more than 500 years.
Another major attraction is the wineries in the area of Moldova. Here wine is a tradition, each winery having its own fascinating story.
