Itinerary of Peles & Bran Castle in Transylvania Tour

Transylvania tour from Bucharest to Bran Castle & Peles Castle and the Medieval City of Brasov

You will meet the guide and other travelers between 07:30 – 08:00 am at the pick-up points mentioned above.

At 08:00 am, you will leave Bucharest, heading north towards the Carpathian Mountains and Transylvania.

The first stop is Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort, where you will visit Peles Castle – the former residence of the Romanian Royal Family.

Continue the day with a scenic drive through the Carpathian Mountains and, in about 1 hour, arrive at Bran where you will visit Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s castle.

Before heading back to Bucharest, we will remain in Transylvania and stop for a short time in Brasov, a typical medieval city. You will stop in Council Square and start a quick walking tour in the Old Town. You will learn more about the story of the Saxons in Transylvania, admire the impressive and well-preserved architecture, see the Black Church (city’s landmark – view from outside) and discover which is the second narrowest street in Europe – the Rope Street.

FAQ

Do you offer hotel pick-up and drop-off?

Yes. We offer free pick-up from the following hotels in Bucharest:

  • JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, 90 Calea 13 Septembrie, Bucharest – pick-up at 07:30
  • Intercontinental Athenee Palace Bucharest, Strada Episcopiei 1 – 3, Bucharest – pick-up at 07:40
  • Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town, Strada Doamnei 12, Bucharest – pick-up at 07:50
  • Grand Hotel Bucharest, Bulevardul Balcescu Nicolae 4, Bucharest – pick-up at 08:00

If you cannot come for the pick-up at any of the above hotels or you would like to have a private transfer from your hotel, the extra fee for hotel pick-up and drop-off is €35 for a standard car (1-3 persons), €60 for a minivan (4-8 persons), and €100 for a van (9-16 persons). If you want to book this extra service, please get in touch with us.

How can we buy the tickets for the castles?

One day before the tour, we will send you a reminder email with links where you can buy tickets online for the castles. This would be the best option to avoid the queues at the ticket office. You can also buy your tickets on the spot by card or cash RON (only).

How is the audio guide in Italian, Spanish, French & Hebrew working?

The audio guide is an application working on your mobile phone. One day before the tour, we will email you instructions on installing it. You have to install it before the tour as the guide might not be able to help you.
The audio guide is a collection of stories about the visited attractions and general information about Romania. The audio guide does not translate what the guide is saying in English, and we only recommend booking this tour if you have at least a basic understanding of English (to be able to follow the guide).

Can I take the luggage with me on the tour?

Yes, we will store it in the trunk of the minibus.

Can I stay in Brasov at the end of the tour?

Yes, but keep in mind that Brasov might not be the last stop. If the last stop is Bran, after the visit of the castle, we can drop you off at the bus station in Bran where you can take the bus to Brasov (30-minute ride).

Is tipping included?

Tips for your guide and driver are not included. If you loved your tour, our guides and drivers always appreciate recognition for a well-done job!
The amount is entirely a personal preference, but 10-20 Euros/USD per day can be used as a guideline.
