We will pick you up in the morning at your address in Bucharest and depart to Sibiu.
On our way, we will stop at Sinaia, a very famous mountain resort, also known as the “Pearl of the Carpathians.” We will visit a typical and peaceful worship place, Sinaia Monastery, built in the late XVIIth century.
The next visit here is Peles Castle, the former summer residence for the first Royal couple of Romania, King Carol 1st and Queen Elisabeth. Considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe, the construction is impressive thanks to the architectural style and decorations, but most of all thanks to the beautiful interior design (an exciting mixture of cultures in terms of furniture, the specific touch of the King and Queen). The palace had modern facilities for the last half of the XIXth century (electricity, vacuum cleaner, electrical elevator, and central heating). Here you will also hear the story of the Royal couples in Romania and their significant influence on our country’s history. The visit lasts about 45 minutes, after which you will spend some time in the beautiful gardens of the castle.
The next stop is Brasov, Kronstadt (“the city of the crown”) under its German name. Yes, you are now officially in Transylvania! In Brasov, you will have lunch in a typical restaurant and enjoy a lovely walk in the old city center’s narrow and cobblestone streets. You will see The Council Square, The Council Tower, The famous Black Church (the most extensive Gothic construction in the Eastern part of Europe).
In the evening, head to Sibiu for dinner and overnight in the city.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Sibiu and then explore this wonderful city in Transylvania.
Sibiu used to be a medieval German citadel, with the first documentary attestation in 1191 and the old name Hermannstadt. In 2007, Sibiu gained the title of the European Capital of Culture. You will enjoy a walking tour of the old town (the historical center of Sibiu), including The Large Square, The Small Square with the picturesque Liars Bridge, the city’s ancient fortifications, the Council Tower, etc. Around noon, we will check into a nice local restaurant to enjoy a traditional lunch and then head back to Bucharest.
On the way, stop at Bran and visit Bran Castle, which became worldwide famous thanks to Dracula’s legend. Here you will find out how this legend was born and why Transylvania is part of it. Our advice: probably some garlic will be useful during the visit 🙂
In the evening, we will arrive in Bucharest with lifelong memories and stories to tell your friends back home.
Of course, you can cancel at least one day before departure.
