Itinerary - In the Footsteps of Dracula Tour in Romania

Our friendly guide will pick you up from your hotel around 08:00 am. You will head first to Targoviste, the former capital of Wallachia province, to visit the Princely Court. In this place, the Wallachian rulers used to reign for centuries.

The journey will continue with the visit to an architectural masterpiece in Curtea de Arges. You will have the chance to see the beautiful Curtea de Arges Monastery. Beyond the impressive and unique architectural style, the monastery boasts an interesting legend about the church’s builder and all he had to do so he could, eventually, finish the work.

The highlight of our trip will be Vlad the Impaler Castle, Poienari a special place where you can get only after climbing the 1480 steps through the cool forest. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the Carpathian Mountain’s breathtaking scenery and a glimpse of the famous Transfagasaran Road. Prepare to admire the fantastic view over the mountains and hear the tumultuous story of Vlad the Impaler, one of the most intriguing figures in our history.

Before getting back to Bucharest, you will stop at Vidraru Lake to see Vidraru Dam, a majestic construction from the communist period and one of Europe’s largest arch-dams.
