How to Get to Bran Castle from Bucharest?

The easiest option is to book a tour. We can meet up at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest at 8 AM or we can pick you up with a mini-bus in front of your hotel.

Other options to get to the Bran Castle from Bucharest include public transportation. You can take a train from Bucharest North Station, but this is a harder way to get there.

You can buy your tickets online with at least 6 hours in advance. The price for a one-way ticket is around 50 RON (almost 11 Euros) and you can get a 5% discount for purchasing the tickets online.

The train ride from Bucharest to Brasov is scheduled for 2.5 to 3.5 hours but takes into account delays. Once you arrive in Brasov you’ll have to take a cab to Bran. There is a bus that you can also take but it only leaves every 30 minutes on weekdays and every hour on weekends. The bus ride takes about 45 minutes.

A better option would be to rent a car. The castle is only 187 km away and it takes on average 3 hours to get there.

The Logistics of Visiting the Castle

In the low season, between the 1st of October to 31st of March, the Castle is open:

Mondays: 12 PM – 4 PM

Tuesday- Sunday: 9 AM – 4 PM

And in the high season, between the 1st of April until the end of September, the Castle is open:

Monday: 12 PM – 6 PM

Tuesday–Sunday: 9 AM – 6 PM.

The prices of the tickets are:

  • 40 lei for Adults (less than 9 euros)
  • 30 lei for Seniors (around 6 euros)
  • 25 lei for Students older than 18 (about 5 euros)
  • 10 lei for Pupils ages between 7 to 18 (2 euros)
