Itinerary of Brasov City, Romania

Day 1Bucharest– Sinaia –Brasov

We will pick you up from your hotel around 08:00 am and head to Sinaia, also known as “The Pearl of the Carpathians.”

Sinaia is a beautiful mountain resort in the Carpathian mountains at 800 meters altitude. Here you will visit Sinaia Monastery (with the old and the new church) and Peles Castle, built by the first King of Romania, Carol I, to be a summer Royal residence. The castle has an impressive architectural style. It was a very modern construction (for that time), being the first castle in Europe having electric power.

From Sinaia, we go to Brasov City Romania, an old medieval citadel, first documented in 1235, the most important commercial center from all the seven German Medieval Cities of Transylvania (Siebenbuergen). We will visit the Old Town (the Historical Centre), followed by dinner & accommodation.

Day 2Brasov – Bran - Busteni – Bucharest

After breakfast, we will leave behind the colorful Brasov City and we will visit the famous Bran Castle located in the small village of Bran and known as Dracula’s Castle. Bran castle was initially built as a military fortress at the end of the 14th century to defend Transylvania and Wallachia’s border. It became worldwide famous after being associated with “Dracula,” the novel by Bram Stoker.

We will take advantage of Bran’s beauty and picturesque mountain landscapes to have lunch in a beautiful local restaurant.

Our next stop is at Cantacuzino Castle. Located in the mountain resort Busteni, in an idyllic natural setting, the castle was built in Neo-Romanian style and inaugurated in 1911 at Prince Cantacuzino’s wish. Prince Grigore Cantacuzino was also known as “the Nabob”-prime minister of Romania between 1899-1900 and 1904-1907. The castle is surrounded by a park whose alleys take you to the cave, cascades, and fountains.

At the end of the day, we will return to Bucharest.
